My Views on Makeup Usage, What Your Mother Should Have Told You
DISCLAIMER: I am not your mother. If you are here you have agreed to read this post and accept full responsibility for it 🙂
Once upon a time, in a land far far away (Rome) I was 13. This is the year I started experimenting with makeup. I stole some from my mother and I started seeing how I would look. I must say, I was not very good at it and I am still learning!! I am very amazed when I see very young youtubers doing makeup tutorials… Was it just me?
I admire the confidence, but I just don’t see how they could be experts at that age. Maybe there’s something wrong with me and the fact that many years later I still suck at it! I definitely agree that the world has many prodigies and sometimes the youngest tiniest person can do amazing things.
Lets move past for a moment, I clearly remember my mother getting upset with me when she saw me putting on foundation, it really stuck. She was very certain and direct about the fact that the more unnatural substances you add to your body the more nature is going to punish you at some point later. I didn’t quite get it, but she was definitely unsupportive of me using make up at that tender age, so I never had much.
Years went by and I got accustomed to just using a black eyeliner and some blush. My skin was pretty good and never suffered acne (I understand people that suffer from skin conditions as such and I don’t judge for wanting to look better). One thing about my mother was making sure I did get into cigar smoking…. Hahahaha! Just kidding, maybe not 😛
I am very happy with my mother’s advices and the fact that my skin is still beautiful and I can pull off not wearing foundation to this day! So moral of the story, try not to use too many unnatural products on your skin. When you mess with mother nature, she will get back at you!
